What is the Care Plan?
The Care Plan is one low monthly cost that covers everything involved in keeping your site online, secure, and fast. We believe in being transparent about exactly what you get, so here’s the full list!
Care Plans include:
- Premium hosting: Unlimited bandwidth. Lightning fast. Secure.
- SSL certificate: Automatic SSL (https) for all hosted domains and subdomains.
- Monthly software updates: WordPress core and every plugin, tested and updated.
- 24-hour critical updates: Any security-critical update, site or server, is applied within 24 hours of release.
- Active security and firewall: Automatic blocking of bots, automated scripts, and login abuse, plus daily vulnerability scans.
- Uptime monitoring: 24/7 monitoring of DNS, hosting, and the site itself. If something breaks, we know before you do — and we fix it.
- Integrated analytics: View your site analytics right from your dashboard, in a format that actually makes sense.
- DNS management: Bad DNS can take down your site or send your emails straight to spam. We manage it so it’s always set up right.
- HDLicenses: Licenses for Harmonic Design plugins as needed — HDForms, HDCommerce, HDPress, HDAnalytics, and more.
- Bug fixes — forever: If a bug we caused is discovered even years after launch, we fix it. We stand by what we build.
- Daily server backups: Peace of mind with daily backups going back 30 days, plus the ability to download a full backup locally anytime.
- Image optimization: Images are automatically compressed and resized for speed.
- Content Delivery Network: All images served through a CDN for better performance and stability.
- Legal pages: A Privacy Policy and Terms of Service written to help you meet privacy requirements like GDPR and PIPEDA.

- Quarterly 60-minute consulting call: Once a quarter, we sit down with you. Clients are constantly surprised by how many tedious workflows we can automate — things they never thought to mention.

Why is the Care Plan required?
You didn’t start your business to become a security expert. You shouldn’t have to know what a DMARC record is, how to configure a CDN, or why your emails are landing in spam. That’s our job — and with a Care Plan, it never has to be yours.
Almost all of our projects come from referrals, and referrals only happen when clients are happy. A site that’s slow, hacked, or broken six months after launch doesn’t make anyone happy. So we don’t build sites and walk away: we manage what we build.

Frequently asked questions
Do I own my website?
Yes. Completely. The site, the content, the design — it’s all yours. The Care Plan covers hosting and maintaining it, not owning it.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Care Plans are month-to-month with no long-term contract. If you cancel, we’ll provide a full backup of your site and help hand things off cleanly.
What happens if I leave the Care Plan?
We’ll migrate your site wherever you’d like and make sure the handoff is smooth. Just know that once the site is out of our hands, updates, security, and maintenance become your responsibility. We only do ongoing work on sites we host and manage. It keeps quality high and lets us stand behind everything we build.
What if I go over my storage or content-update hours?
We’ll let you know before it’s ever a problem, and you can either trim things down or move up a tier. No surprise charges.
My site wasn’t built by Harmonic Design. Can I still get a Care Plan?
Usually, yes. We’ll do a full site audit first to make sure it meets our standards (or quote what it would take to get it there), then bring it into the fold.
